Ava de Pol
I am a consultant, researcher, writer, mother, and a woman building the life she wants. I have moved across countries, changed professional directions, pursued new qualifications while working, and learned that a carefully constructed life is rarely built in a straight line.
I do not have every answer. I am interested in asking better questions.
Through Her Strategy Dossier, I share ideas about ambition, influence, negotiation, power, and the decisions that shape our lives. Some come from ancient texts. Some come from contemporary research. Others come from observing how people and organizations behave when something meaningful is at stake.
If you are ambitious but uninterested in following a conventional script, you may find something useful here.

The world does not make decisions for you.
I was born in northeastern China, in a family where business was part of everyday life. I grew up observing, perhaps without realizing it, that success was rarely just about having a good product or working hard. It was also about understanding people, recognizing opportunities, and knowing how to position yourself.
As a child, I studied piano, competed in mathematics and science, and considered several possible futures. I was curious about how things worked. Eventually, I understood that life offered more possibilities than any single path could contain. The question was what I wanted to make possible.
At eighteen, I left home and began again.
At eighteen, I moved alone to Europe to study mathematics. I arrived in a foreign country with a future to build and a great deal to figure out.
I spent five years in Budapest. I studied, worked in technology, and learned to navigate systems that were not designed around me. When one route became unavailable, I had to find another. Immigration rules, professional opportunities, and practical constraints all became part of the equation.
This was my first real education in strategy: a good plan is not a promise that things will go your way. It is the ability to find your next move when they do not.

I stopped treating my life as a fixed identity.
In 2022, I took an opportunity and moved to Germany. Alongside my work in technology consulting, I completed a master’s degree in psychology and an MBA. My work has taught me to look beyond appearances. Behind every negotiation, organization, and relationship lie interests, incentives, information, and unequal positions of power. Understanding these forces can change how we interpret a situation, and how we respond to it.
I do not believe a woman must choose one identity and remain inside it forever. I believe she can build new capabilities, change direction, and become more than her original circumstances might have suggested. Reinvention is not an admission that your previous self failed. Sometimes, it is evidence that you have learned enough to want something different.
I created the guide I wish more women had been given.
I created Her Strategy Dossier because I believe women deserve more than encouragement to work hard, believe in themselves, and wait for their efforts to be recognized. Ambition deserves a method.
You may be building a business, negotiating a salary, entering a competitive industry, navigating a difficult relationship, or deciding whether a particular opportunity is worth pursuing. In each situation, there is more to consider than what is immediately visible. The answers are rarely as simple as being nice or being tough, speaking up or staying silent, pursuing an opportunity or walking away. The real skill lies in knowing which response fits the situation, and why.
Her Strategy Dossier helps you develop that judgment. It is designed to be used, not simply admired. I am not here to promise that every move will succeed. I want to help you become the woman who understands her options, recognizes her leverage, and makes decisions with greater intention.
Your life is not a game you must win at any cost. But it is a game you should learn to understand.

Know Your Game,
Shape Your Outcome.
